It does seem a rather bizarre thing to do in the name of research, and given the liklehood of arrest!

I`m still finding it unbelieveable that these perverts (and I`m not including Townsend here - yet) are stupid enough to use their personal credit card details to pay to see this vile filth. (Apparently, I heard it wasn`t pornography, just abused kids, I heard, I may be wrong)

But I`ve always maintained, those stupid enough to commit these crimes are invariably stupid enough to leave their names and adresses `At the scene of the crime` and deserve everything the law chooses to throw at them.

Its almost a certainty that anyone who lives the " everything to excess" lifestyle of the rock star where everything is on a plate including sex, will be inclined to search for new thrills and risks.
The only thing that really surprises me is that more are not exposed !

True, but that`s no kind of justification for looking for kids for these thrills. More and more of these celebrity paedophiles are being unveiled all the time, it just makes you wonder who it`ll be next.

My comment was a sad observation about that decadent lifestyle of sex and drugs and certainly nothing more.
Studies in the States seem to indicate that continued exposure to the freely available massive amounts of internet porn is addictive and destructive.
It encourages men who otherwise would regard themself`s as decent human beings to dig for harder and harder pornography, for darker and fouler titillation
The reports also suggest this porn can trigger excess`s that when caught, even the perpetrator`s find unbelievable and unexplainable.

In a word, b***ocks. I like a bit of `skin` every now and again. But I`ve never had an urge to find `harder` porn. Once you`ve seen one woman with a bowling pin inserted in her nether regions, you`ve seen them all.

And I just do not buy that claim that he paid to look at abused children as research. There`s a hell of a lot more stuff out there that`s free, it`s just wether or not you CHOOSE to look at it.

I can`t help agreeing with Stantz - he didn`t hand over credit card details simply to gain access to material for `research purposes.

What is more likely it that Townsend was another individual who believed that the internet is the totally anonymous place it is made out to be.

Recent raids high profile cases involving the US child porn site have shown that this is not the case, and he now feels the need to cover his arse before he is seen in the same light as Gary Glitter.
