matsui dvd player ` funny line on region 1 playback`

i have hacked my matsui dvd player to any region... and when i play region 1 disc`s i get a wiggly line on the sides of the screen... is this the discs or is the player or the tv.... my tv is ntsc compatable and so is my video .... all the region 2 disc are ok .. how can i stop this ?
also how can i tape i film form dvd to vhs ?? when i try this the picture swops from black and white to colour ..

Hi, Could anyone tell me whether my Logix 3000 multiregion will play Region 1 DVD`s in B+W as I don;t know if my £84 cheapo Matsui TV( with scart) is NTSC compatable. Is is necessary to have a TV that is NTSC comp. to play Region 1 dvd`s? IF so, can I do anything to my TV to make it NTSC compatable, apart from bin it or buy a new one!, ????? Any help would be greatfully received. Chris

I have a Matsui dvd110 and like yourself have it hacked this is not a problem with the player that u r experiencing bacause i have imported a number of region 1 dvd`s and have had no problem playing them, actually the only disc that i have had any problems with on region 1 is disneys Dinosaur which did not boot up at all! ITS PROBABLY THE TV WHICH MAY NOT BE 100% OK WITH NTSC PLAYBACK. THE MATSUI PLAYER IS A GOOD PLAYER FOR ITS PRICE AND I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS BECAUSE I HAVE HAD NO SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH IT AND IM HAPPY!

lt must be your TV, mine has played everything l throw at it..except that Dinosaur R1!
Yeah, l think the Matsui is a execellent machine. Whats everyones problem with it?

Tv`s don`t have to accept pure NTSC to play R1 discs (I believe many Matsuis don`t) Either output PAL60 - most players do this, or - better still, output RGB (As long as your player and TV accept RGB - very few don`t - you should really use this by choice anyway, it`s by far much better than standard picture) Both these will give an excellant colour picture. Hope this is useful
