OK, so who else has been caught out by this `trailer`?
Saw it at the cinema before Minority Report last week and then a few times on TV, and I thought that it looked like a good film, but hadn`t heard anything about it anywhere else. When I looked on the website I found out why!
It`s an interesting style of advertising, but I can`t help wondering if it might be self-defeating.
By the way, the website is http://www.luckyluckystar.com
It`s something a little different. But the way that there is a lot of Mercedes in the ad itself seemed a bit obvious it wasn`t just product placement in a movie. :-)
Though I suspect it`s trying to emulate some of the feeling evoked by BMW Films, it`s just another way to spend marketing money for a car that costs in the region of £92,000.
I`d prefer a new BMW M3 myself....
WTF?
It`s an ad for mercerdes???? I thought that it looked like a great film aswell. I think you`re right though Chris. It`s probably a bit too subtle - given the lack of attention I pay to adverts, and I guess that i`m not the only one, the `message` totally passed me by. Cool idea, but annoying now I know the truth!

My first thought when I saw the adverts was "Its a car advert" then as it went on it managed to convince me it was a film advert.
Especially the "Coming to a Cinema Near You Soon" bit at the end.
And at then I thought - "that looks good I wonder when it is out?"

RE: Lucky Star (SPOILER WARNING?)
Next thing to try is see if it`s available on DVD like the BMW ones were via the US site. Can`t find a way to download the files at present.
