Nigeria make five team changes, including a 19 year old goalkeeper with three caps...
Looking good :-)
Very cagey half, England woke up in the last two minutes, Scholes hitting the post following a fingettip save by the rookie goalie.
Half time : Nigeria 0-0 England, Sweden 0-0 Argentina
I think I need a drink!!!
Full time : Nigeria 0-0 England, Sweden 1-1 Argentina
England play Denmark Saturday 12.30pm, Sweden play Senegal Sunday 7.30 am
RE: Nigeria vs England ***SPOILER***
Lets be honest, have thay really got a cat in hells chance of going any further after todays performance?
RE: Nigeria vs England ***SPOILER***
I`d say no, not on todays performance.
But maybe because they knew a draw was good enough to qualify for the knock out stages they played more conservatively.
RE: Nigeria vs England ***SPOILER***
They looked bloody knackered after about 5 minutes of the second half. To be fair, I think that in 94 degree heat and 80% humidity, I might too. They did just enough. Perhaps they didn`t fancy playing Senegal?

RE: Nigeria vs England ***SPOILER***
I would prefer a draw to be honest because I would rather face Denmark than Sengal, man there just another nigeria and how much trouble did they give us today... first half anyway...
RE: Nigeria vs England ***SPOILER***
I don`t think Nigeria really did give us that much trouble, they didn`t have that many shots on goal. I think today`s game was very much a case of not knackering out your squad in the high humidity and heat, playing just 2 up front and making sure everyone was always back behind the ball to defend, and avoiding injuries.
Players weren`t running for every ball, stretching that extra inch in tackles and interceptions, etc. Why bother if you don`t have to? Save it for a game that matters.
As entertainment it sucked, but this game wasn`t about enteraintment, last Friday`s was. From here on in though every game counts and will no doubt be eventful. :)
It was VERY calming to see Nigeria waste the last minute as they were as happy with a draw as we were. :)
