Page 1 of unusual xbox360 controller/possibly the rarest??

hi,im writing because i recently purchased an item from ebay which i have no idea where it came from and for what reason was this limited controller released?i collect games controllers and have nearly all different types,ie,mcfarlane halo,odst,green,blue you name it and i know all about them,but,this one comes in a box which is well made and has what can be described as a valentines day design on the front,its held shut by little magnets each side of the front flap that meet other magnets on the main box to form a sealed box,it has the official xbox360 motto like on all official products printed specifically on the box so it was made to signify an event or maybe loyal retail custom but i have no clue,ALOT of people were trying to bid for it but i feel quite lucky to win it as its quite cool to own something that you collect but know nothing about,guess thats the point of collecting,to get rare unusual stuff and this is the most interesting controller i have.if anyone has any clues to its identity in the marketplace could they please bring me up to speed as the internet says nothing about it?i like that bit,must be rare eh!thanks for taking the time to ponder my babble:)cheers ps,forgot to say inside the box is a specially shaped place for the controller to sit which is covered by a red silk fabric,and it has a tiny compartment above the controller also lined for the batterys with a flap to house them!quality!!!all this is done very neatly,you would have to see it,can you put pics up?im new on so il check,tada

I have no idea about Xbox controllers I`m afraid but that is possibly the longest paragraph in the world! ;)

hi,i have the controller in my hands,well not actually right now but its on my special shelf.i can definately say with no doubt that this is extremely legit,i will post a pic honestly,just a bit slack.well as they say no news is good news so im guessing i have something pretty damn rare,hope!hope!

Have you tried emailing microsoft about it, they would be able to tell you much more than we could. Also try some gaming/xbox forums for more informed people.

I`ll be honest I have never seen a gaming item so rare there is nothing on the internet about it, so I tend to agree with Sue unfortunately that it could be fake.

Not sure if controllers have serial numbers, try emailing that to microsoft if they do.

hi,like i stated before if you saw the wormanship of the box along with the quality of the official controller inside which is red mostly but has a piano black effect band that goes across the two RB buttons,i think the only way to lay this to rest is for me to put a pic up which i will do today as soon as my daughter gets back as my cameraphone is godawful at pics,once again i appreciate people taking time to help find info on this as i know its legit,one thing i was told was that the person had been given it by a microsoft rep which i can only assume means that the seller sold microsoft merchandise and got this as a loyalty gift like they did with the steel spartan kotobukiya 12"master chiefs in the large square boxes as they were only "given"to official stockists of there artwork,figures.i will prevail and get my answers.ps.does anyone know anyone who has a copy of the korean film oldboy that came with the handmade copper box,if you do then please,please get in touch as cash waiting,many thanks jas.ps.that would be why nothing is on the internet,maybe?
