Shame you didn`t get it sooner, I`d have sold you some of my old ones cheap :(
(They mostly went on ebay in the end).

Can`t remember if you have a Xbox 360 or not...since if you do you`ll probably only be interested in platform exclusives (of which there aren`t that many! :D)

Ratchet & Clank is well worth a look though (IMHO).
Very enjoyable game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is supposed to be brilliant - but I managed 10 mins on it before I switched it off :D

Currently playing Resistance 2 and enjoying that, as well as Fifa 09.

looking at gamerankings most of the best games you`d probably have played on 1 of your PCs if you were interested :)

As MilesR says MGS4 is probably the main AAA exclusive, along with Little Big planet. I saw Resistance 1 quite cheap in Woolworths today, that`s supposed to be good.

Again I`ve only heard good things about Ratchet and Clank, and also Uncharted: Drake`s Fortune gets good reviews.

I`m a relatively new convert and so far these are some of my favourites (picked them all up for a tenner each).

Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction (still need to finish it)
Resistance: Fall of Man (really long for an FPS, although I just finished it)
Uncharted: Drake`s Fortune (sort of Indiana Jones crossed with Prince of Persia)
Heavenly Sword (bit short, but looks great and good hack `n` slash fun)

Also got the Star Wars game (Force Unleashed), but that was full price because I`m a sucker for all things Wars. Have GTA IV, Devil May Cry 4 and maybe one or two others I`ve forgotten about.

ok, i got 50 notes in christmas money yay :)

i got these already

Ratchet & clank,, came with ps3, tbh, not my cuppa tea, i fell out with platform games after they stopped being on platforms (ie,, 3d lol)
resistance, fall of man, on it`s way from fleabay.
Little Big Planet, again, on it`s way, & really looking foreward to this one :)
Need for speed Pro st, not really into racing games, more for my lad this one.

so, whats recommended ? i`m thinking about resistance 2, but figure theres little point untill i clock the first one, but if anyone here says it`s a "must have" then i`ll probably go for it :)

heyalp :)

(ps, list not restricted to ps3, anything AAA+ on 360 also a consideration)

Surprised you don`t like Ratchet & Clank - I think its a fantastic game...managed to complete it about 7 times over I think :D

Resistance 2 - to be honest, when I was able to play on the PS3 (up till yesterday :(), whilst it was good, it was really just a continuation of the first one (same game with a couple more weapons and different enemies). But not worth £35.

Ogs old lad, if ya wanna punt R&C lemme know and if it`s cheap enough we may have a deal old chum LOL.

[/edit] Can anyone who has it post opinions etc on this Little Big Planet... it struck me as summat too kiddy for me but I might be completely wrong track on it. I could have gotten it in a pack but went for Batman Begins and a Blu Ray remote instead [/edit off]

i`ve not introduced my lad to the ps3 "yet" so will have to hold on in case he likes it, if he doesn`t you can have it for buttons (or maybe a Wii game swap if i ever makes enough room to make having one viable lol)

short of that, tbh, if connor doesn`t like it, you can have it for nowt, i rarely trade games in as you get fk all for em, as i found out in gamestation today, they had a sign up saying they where offering extra exchange rates for "retro" along with a list of what they want. made me consider going into the loft for a looksee. but for starters i wanted to know if it was gonna be viable, so i went through what i Know i have.

2x mint sega dreamcasts (at least 1 fully boxed, with pristine original controller, + official house of the dead pack inc game & gun fully boxed)
1x mad catz gun (next best gun to the original)
+ 2 extra official controllers
6 vmu`s (4 of which are the translucent special editions, & i probs still got most of the boxes)
1 sega saturn, Mint (& maybe boxed, tho that disne matter cos you got no more money for it :/)
2x saturn pads (inc one of the original spoon pads, awsome for 2d fighters.. best pad EVER) & 1 official 2nd gen pad.
2x sega official light guns (one boxed with the original house of the dead pack, & the other boxed with virtua cop 1+2) original retail boxes....
1x Ninty Gamecube (mint fully boxed inc all original accessories)
2 arcade sticks (3rd party, but good ones, iirc, made for Namco)

this lot didn`t even get me halfway to a pre-owned Wii, & since they only gice pennies for the games (average 50p to a quid) tho, they offered me 2.50p for the collectors box shenmu :/

got about 30+ original boxed pristine Dreamcast games (a lot of them hard to find, like the full Resident evill set that was released for the DC

& i couldn`t even consider asking them about my Mk1 xbox, they offer 20quid if it`s boxed, they don`t care if it`s been modded etc, they`ll take it, but pay no extra etc. so my mega modded Mk1 Xbox with it`s 120gig hard drive, & executor chip + linux + win XP installed, + tons of games is still gonna be burried with me (good insurance, there`s no way they`ll be able to lift it off me lol)

i`m rambling again lol....

Will maybe get around to posting in the LBP thread but I think it`s a fantastic game. Some really inventive levels with an awesome soundtrack. But I have been truly staggered with some of the levels created by users. (the game features its own level creator and you can then publish your levels online for all to play free..) You can then `heart` levels you like (basically flagging them as favourites) and friends can see which levels you like.
Some levels need 2, 3 or 4 players to get all of the secrets - and (I think) you can also play all of the games levels online too to help with that..
my PS3 ID is sjw211 if anyone wants to add me...
Been playing Rock Band lately.. :) and the daughter wants R & C so jimbo beat me to ogster`s great offer. :(
REALLY loving the PS3 at the minute - especially the streaming and the `not having to convert avis to dvd` time saving. Esp as some of the avis have 5.1 sound.. :)
