RE: Do you think a good quality gaming show could still work on TV?
Gameface and the show after it, seemed to have settled down a bit now, and although aren`t brilliant, they`re ok. Although some of the things the female presenter comes up with shows she`s reading a script some-one else wrote and isn`t knowledgable herself :(
playr now has a youtube channel so can watch that to see the show, although it is available "via other means" as well ;)

Ginx now has dedicated channel on Virgin, 286, only found out about it today, hopefuly it`s improved since its shows that used to be in Bravo, not sure how good a 24/7 game channel can be though!

Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit #Go8bit started on Dave last night 10:00
was pretty funny, may depend on the guests and games though,
Dara's the host, and 2 teams of 2 celebrities/comedians go head to head in various games from old classics to modern games.

Well, um, okay, kinda fun in places.
Dara is good as usual, I really liked Ellie Gibson, actually the talent was just good full stop.
But the whole thing feels like a typical TV show producer who doesn't get computer games has felt the need to spend time rotating the stage (that's going to get really old really quickly), inventing new ways to liven up existing games that don't need it (Tetris blindfolded??? Seriously?) because otherwise it couldn't possibly make good TV...
What planet are they on where they think this is a good idea? Gamers will think its stupid, non-gamers won't watch a show where people compete with computer games.

I dunno, I don't my missus has layed Tekkeb. She's not interested in multiplayer games but she we were both on the edge of our seats during the Tekken fight!

Yeah those bits were good, because they just played the game! It's the "lets try and make the game more interesting" twists I didn't like.

Liked the second episode much better, the only gimmick they added was a good one! I keep seeing that game and wishing I had someone to play it with that would make it worth buying...

we watched the 2nd episode last night, and starting to agree with you about the revolving stage, they all look a bit awkward doing sill actions as it moves,
did enjoy the last game, the bomb one, never heard of that but looked fun if you've got some-one to play against, sadly I don't seem to have time for games any more :( (although I have time to watch a programme about them!?!?!? )

It supports VR, I think it would be a lot of fun in VR.
