Now everyone can run homebrew on their PSP:D

enemyonpc (Elite) posted this on Monday, 29th January 2007, 09:33

About time this was released:D. Been waiting on a 2.81 downgrader since xmas and it`s here. Course you need to upgrade to 3.03 before you can downgrade and you need an original unpatched GTA: Liberty City Stories (the one with the 2.00 update, not 2.60.

Just thought i`d let you know 8), now i`m off to ebay to pay over the odds for LCS :/

P.S - Works on all motherboard versions

Regards
Bryan

Nice!
I`m already on the custom 3.03 so I`m good, but a couple of friends will be happy now.
I have the original (bought in the US on day of release :D) GTA:LCS so that means they`re sorted :D

Thanks for the heads up Bryan

No problem mate. I`m sitting here waiting for 15:30 then i`ll ask a couple of kids from the street if they have LCS. I went up to blockbuster and rented it but that version is patched so no luck there.

Does infrastructure and Ad-hoc modes still work with ISO`s?

Haven`t tried any Wi-Fi playing with the ISO`s yet. Will see if I can give it a try and let you know in the next couple of days.

Just in case anyone`s concerned about this new downgrader, I`ve tried it on a friend`s PSP and it worked brilliantly.

Bryan - haven`t had a chance to try the Wi-fi out, but from what I read it seems to work fine using the latest custom firmware.

Cool! Now I can join the scene. Unfortunately, I`ve done some googling, and the websites I`ve found might as well have been written in bratislavian.

From what I understand, after I`ve downgraded to 1.5. I can upgrade to 3.03oe-C, whatever the hell that is, but i should install a, then b first. The C version i`ll assume will allow me to play recent UMD games, but it`ll also allow me to choose the system version.

Truth be told, this whole thing is making me feel really f***ing old and out of touch. If someone in the know could do a little glossary of terms or something. Actually. Someone tell me 7 good reasons i should risk bricking it in the first place, and I`ll go in feet first.

Stantz - do you have a TA-082 PSP?

As far as I can see, you should (in theory) be able to upgrade to 3.03, downgrade to 1.50 and then do a straight upgrade to 3.03 OE-C.

Wait till tomorrow (I have 4 of them to do for guys at work :D) and I`ll see if I can confirm it and give you an idiots guide (no offence :D)

Well mine was indeed a TA-082 on 2.81 and the downgrade worked no problem.

I updated to sony 3.03 then downgraded to 1.50, then i got the full installer from HERE which updated me straight from 1.50 to 3.03 OEC without having to go through A and B.

Not sure what you mean by choosing system versions though Stantz.

Not sure i can give you 7 good reason to do the flash but if your a fan of emulators and roms then this is for you:D. Currently playing Old School GTA and resident Evil 2 myself.

Just make sure you put all the files in the right places and that you have 100% battery (keep your charger in just incase).

P.S the OEC update works great with MGS - PO

stantz - just do it. You have been able to play all games for ages - not just the 3.03C (same really as a and b except for `tweaks`).
Depends what version you have now as to how you `downgrade`. And do you have an early version of LCS?
Sony have already released 3.1 (which has already been decrypted...) but basically 3.03SE (a, b, c etc..) is basically a custom version of the official 3.03 firmware that allows you to other stuff.....

I`ve heavily into old skool roms (as you know) so that`s one side of it I would enjoy.

I`ve no idea of the serial of my motherboard, but the new downgrader works on any board anyway. I`ve got the unpatched version of LCS and got halfway through the downgrade when it told me my battery wasn`t strong enough.

EDIT: Down to 1.50 (woo-hoo!) I`ll do the 3.03oec after work - hopefully
