Page 1 of Wireless connection for Xbox 360?
Gaming and Consoles Forum
I`ve recently gone wireless (Linksys router) and would like to setup my 360 wirelessly too, but don`t particularly want to pay £60 for the official M$ adaptor.
Anyone know if there are alaternatives out there? Will a normal USB adaptor work?
RE: Wireless connection for Xbox 360?
I`ve got a linksys wireless router and i`ve conneted to my xbox 360 using the Linksys WGA54G 54Mbps Wireless-G Ethernet Game Adapter and it works great! and it also streams tv from my HTPC which is running Windows MCE2005
Cheers

RE: Wireless connection for Xbox 360?
Hi guys,
Just want to double check - would the following item be ok to hook to the 360?
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=18386968649&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=107882
I`m still fairly new to the whole wireless networking thing and don`t want to buy the wrong item. I did see them list a cheaper alternative:
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=51510
... but it doesn`t state it is for gaming use.
Hope you can clarify for me.

the first item will do the job.
the second appears to be a wireless receiver designed to access information
on your pc and display it on the tv.

I`ve got the second one, It`s a steal at that price (which is what i paid 6 months ago) but it`ll be useless for gaming as it`s only a B connection so it`s only ideal for wireless music and still picture transfer from your PC to your Plasma/5.1 surround sound set up. You`ll need a G connection for gaming I believe.

not necessarily M.
802.11b (11Mbps) will cope well with internet connections upto 10Mb.
seeing as the majority of people don`t have a connection that fast and
tbh, xbox live will run ok on a 512Kb service.

cheers guys. I`ve got to hang fire on this for a week or so and will check prices again then.
Thanks again for your help
I figured that if i couldn`t stream video from my Pc to TV with this box then it wouldn`t work for gaming either. I stand corrected, thank you! :/
