Nintendo GB Advance SP or DS?

Reversed (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 20th December 2005, 04:56

Hoping someone can enlighten me here. Nephew is after one of the above for Christmas and I was wondering what extra things he`ll be able to do with the DS that makes it worth shelling out the extra cash?

Never been into games at all so I truly have no clue.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The DS can still play all the games from the GB Advance as well as the ones for the DS.The DS is a more powerful piece of kit than the Gameboy and so the games designed for it tend to have much better graphics. Also the two screens, touch ability and sound detection enable lots of new features that the GB SP could never have.
Basically the DS is a current handheld whereas the GB SP has technology from a few years back.It might be more noticeable in a few months when the DS has lots more games available.

The only real downside I can see with the DS is that it`s about double the size of the GB.If this isn`t a massive issue then the DS is definitely the one to go for.

I agree with last post. DS is the one to go for. Speakign from experince, just spent god knows how long working out which to get my two daughters.

Other upcoming advantage of DS (although think only 1 game at present - Mario Kart) is you can play the games on a free WiFi connection against anybody else anywhere in the world.
