Page 1 of The 360 "we`ll only sell you bundles" thread

Well Toysrus gave us a call today - we`re getting our 360. yeay i say.

But no they only have 2 bundles instore which are both rubbish and they won`t sell the console separetely.

Seems the bundles are:

£399 - full 360, King kong (ok so far), amped (going downhill), and 2 rubbish old dvds
£449 same as above but Project Gotham and an extra rubbish old dvd.

If only there was someone who was going to have more stock before xmas, i`d tell TRU where to shove their bundles :D

the tossers are just trying to milk it for all they can get >:( at least blockbuster are still offering the standard 360 is it was supposed to be :¦ (but are only getting 6 units instead of 150 >:( )

it`s bad enough that M$ started this situation, but for a company like toys"r"us to exploit it is bollox.

My mate had a call from hmv with similar comments. They were swiftly told to f**k off!! Just hop dixons dont try the same on me..

It was exactly the same with the `GIGA PACK`. Reasonably short supply so they put a mandatory bundle with two s***ty games for a kings ransom, knowing suckers would buy it.

Mates nephew wanted a PSP for xmas, but he has got as much chance of getting his dad to part with the thick end of 300 quid as there is of monkeys flying out of my arse. So hes done the sensible thing. They are going to give him the original £180 cost and he (reckons) is going to get it in the new year, when all the pre-christmas skankiness has worn off. I mean, I went into GAME the other day and they had a few PSPs. You couldnt buy any of them without having to sell a kidney and getting two crappy sports games that you would never play, but they had them in.

To continue the PSP analogy, this is why we are getting them so late. Sony decided it was better to have one or two staisfied territories and a p***ed off europe than have everywhere p***ed off, knowing that on release, there is no way of supplying demand. MS went the opposite way (even though this launch is scaled down from original plans) and it seems no one is pleased. Pre-orders are being dropped, shops are ripping customers off and units are failing all over the place.

As I said in one of the other 500 Xbox threads, your best chance of getting a 360, if you are really desperate, is to go to somewhere like toymaster, one of the smaller chains or a local shop. And if you do try and get one on the night of release, may god have mercy on your soul (and your wallet).

And for gods sake, have some dignity. If they ring up and say you can have your xbox, but only if you take it up the arse to the tune of 200 quid, for gods sake, tell them to f*** off. I wouldnt be able to sleep at night otherwise. Id feel so dirty......

Whatever retailer says they can only sell it as a bundle tell them that you`ll speak to trading standards first as i think you will find it`s not allowed

Are they really not allowed to sell as a bundle? If so I wish I`d known that when I got my old Xbox.

I`m pretty sure the only bundles that MUST be sold as bundles are the ones pre-boxed.

eg if M$ produced a box, where inside was a 360 and 2 games, then that is fair enough, but a shop cannot force you to buy item b just because you want item a.

theoretically it`s no different Tesco saying "You can only buy 1 pints of milk, if you buy 1 tin of baked beans".

Failing that, you could walk out the shop and back in to return the unwanted birthday present that your granny got you not knowing you already had one ;)

they can sell it however they want to :¦ BUT if they have taken a deposit from you then tell you they have the item in stock but the terms of sale have changed (ie, they wanna charge you more for an "altered" product) then i reckon you would have cause to go to trading standards, the word i`d be looking for is extortion

Why not just wait until after Crimbo then?
