Does anyone really read this forum? *Cool, a tumbleweed...*

Is it just me, or is there a complete lack of gamers who visit the site? :o

Honestly, I can count on my willy pimples the number of regular posters in here. And I can count on my toe hair the number of interesting threads recently.

Maybe we (read: Ben_Franklin) should start lending out copies of our games to Reviewer forum users to entice them into the dank, sweaty pit of gaming.

So stand up and be heard. A posting in this thread is mandatory if you visit Reviewer and consider yourself a gamer. Any old gubbins will do.

Oh yeah... Ken is a badass dude!

I visit this place at least once a day, and yep, there`s nobody here! S`funny though, I`ve noticed on other gaming forums that I visit that forumite numbers seem to be dropping. I don`t post there, but Gamesradar seems to have far less members posting these days. Ditto Edge and rllmuk. Gaming is teh d00med!!11!

Anybody got the new GamesTM mag? It`s got a lovely front cover (Okami). It`s a pretty enjoyable issue overall, and makes a damn good bog read!

Edge is good too, but to be honest, I gave up on it for being a bit farty.

Meh.

Sounds like a plan Matthew!

Isn`t the thread with the most posts in this forum the one about where to get PS2`s chipped? :o Shocking. I bet there`s a helluva lot more gamers on here than we know about!

We should use this thread as a head count for the true gamers of DVD Reviewer. ;)

TBH I think gaming has taken a big hiy from piracy. Years ago you used to buy 1 game cos that was all you could gather enough pennys for and that would last you till completion. Now i know of guys who have consoles and hundreds of games. People just dont seem to play and get excited about 1 game anymore. I am 33 married with a 3 year old so dont seem to get much chance these days but i do meet up every 6 weeks with a few guys to play games. Its quite sad really but what th hell. We have a good laugh and its good to keep in touch with ya mates.

GUILTY! I`m a gamer and although I visit the site everyday, don`t post much (either on the Bargin Buckets forum - don`t seem to find any bargins, or in the Gaming forum because the expendable income for for games is low and so don`t get many new games).

It`s an interesting point about the number of posts on gaming sites going down. The site I always visit http://projectgenx.alucinae.com/ has seen a reduction in postings and posters!

I really must try harder!

I used to think that piracy was the problem. To be honest I think what`s more damaging to gaming is the sheer amount of product that people actually buy legally. I talk to younger gamers at work (I`m over 30 too) and am constantly shocked by stories of how they own 100+ official titles, and never play them! I`m always reading on other forums how people have bought games on launch day and left them in the shrink wrap for months untouched. Just who is that fooling in the long term, and what hole exactly is that type of peculiar practice plugging up?

Surely all that does is fool the publishers into thinking these are the type of games that people want? Surely hardcore gamers too are kidding themselves if they buy say, Pikmin 2 and never play it, purely to feel that they are supporting a company??!! I`ve found recently that people often do have more money than sense.

I always try to wait for sales, or get a better deal somewhere. I hate getting `buyers remorse` !

Piracy really isn`t the problem... but then thats another story altogether.

Anyway, good to see we attracted another member to the Gaming Forum. Welcome Andy! ;)

Thanks for the welcome.

As in Viewtiful Mark`s post, I cannot see how these young `uns can have 100+ original games. I thought I had alot with 30 original XBox games. The main difference is that I either wait for the sales (see Play.com - games for under a tenner :D ) or buy second hand games (Gamestation anyone???).

I too am an older gamer (30 in a matter of weeks) and so finding time to play games is starting to become moer difficult. For me, I like to wait a while to get a game so as I can see whether it really does live up to the hype.

I`m a very, very casual gamer. I don`t get much time now to play games. I switched on my PS2 the other day for the first time in months.

I do play the Nintendo DS a lot when out and about, the 10 hour battery life means I only have to charge it about once every 10 days or 2 weeks (which gives you an idea about how much I consider is "a lot" when it comes to playing games :p ).

I have nothing against games, I played them all the time when growing up. It`s just that with making films, you have little time to dedicate to your other social activities. Although I seem to find ways to waste time on this site :p ;)
