Xbox 360 Core/Full version

Just a quick question, the Core version doesn`t seem to come with a hard drive....so if you buy this version, how do you save your game progress ???? or don`t you.....
If you cannot save your game progress i see the core version as a complete waste of time.

There are memory cards which I`m guessing you use like with a PlayStation, or GameCube, i.e. once they fill up, you buy a new one.

Wouldn`t be long before the hard drive has paid for itself!

I cant believe from reading a lot of forums on the net how much people are freaking out at the Core system not having a hard drive and how they will save their games!. People seem to be forgetting thats been standard on consoles for ages, you dont see people freaking about the PS2 and the fact you need a memory card.

Its just another way for the company to squeeze out a few more quid from us mugs, surely a memory card should be included as std in any system, but nowing sony etc, they would just bump the cost of the console up to cover it.

the reason people are freaking out is because a HDD was one of the selling points and standard on the original and people came to love the xbox for it and make use of its features.

Its like buying a car with a cd player and then buying a new better one a few years later that only comes with a tape deck. You can still listen to music, but it sucks ass.

Memory cards were prime cash cows for sony. I remember paying 20-25 quid for one for my PS1. Now they are a commodity, they mount them on the front of magazines. If the PS1 came with a HDD and the PS2 didnt I think you would see a lot of people freaking out over memory cards.

Additionally, games and features are becoming so advanced that the industry seems to have outgrown memory cards. It seems like a huge step back.

Except for the DC memory cards which were the best invention ever. Mini chao gardens and games of snake. Goddammit that console ruled!

I still look at it and think wow (albeit in a "s*** this game still looks good" kinda way), PS3 or Xbox 360, the DC will still be sat along side which ever one I get :B

Still got my DC, but alas, I sold all my games.

Big f***ing mistake. I wouldn`t mind buying back some of my old favourites, but have you seen how much some of the better games go for?!

If anyone has an old copy of Skies Of Arcadia, Shenmue, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Grandia 2 or Virtual Tennis that`s unwanted and unloved, send them my way! :D

I`ll love you long time. :x

*That`s right, we`ve claimed this `ere 360 thread, and turned it in an obituary for the Dreamcast. I`m sure there`ll be YET another 360 thread along in a mo.
