Reputable PSP Stockist in the UK - Anyone know ?

bigkahunas (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 19th April 2005, 22:16

I`ve found PSP`s in the UK (Duties paid) over at MovieTyme and BigPockets, But BP are out of stock, MovieTyme my experiance in the past are they are quite slow at shipping (for example i ordered a DVD on saturday morning, it came out yesturday, and so far (Tues night) its still not shipped).

What other companies are trustworthy and ship them from within the UK, So i dont have to wait long (I`m planning on ordering next Monday hopefully).

2 of my friends ordered their PSPs from www.electricbirdland.co.uk
They were out of stock at the time, but as soon as they were in stock (4 days after ordering) - the PSPs were shipped out next day.

You do pay the price for buying one already imported though.
Agassi has strongly recommended Audiocubes - and I think a few people have been happy with that recommendation - so you might want to consider that if the prices of EBland are too high

I have to recommend Movietyme, it does take awhile for items from the US to get over here but for items instock inside the UK they are very quick, I ordered Twisted Metal for the PSP from them yesterday and recieved it today.

On average it`s taking VideoGamesPlus around 4-5 days from Canada (Value Pack + Gretzky = around £180 delivered)

Thanks for the replies, I have gone for MovieTyme as they are £214.99 for Value Pack + Game, other sites are £214.99 for The PSP alone!

Thanks to IndianaJones00, I Have decided that i can afford to wait a week or two for it to be shipped from teh states if its not currently in UK, gives me more time to save for my 512mb Duo card now! Needless to say i`m spent out for the month of May ! :(

Are you sure you wont get a customs charge with Movietyme ? I had a poke around their website and couldn`t see anything about duty being paid. Hope I`m wrong though!

I`ve read on other forums, if i do get stung, contact them and show them the proof and they refund it,

But normally MovieTyme ship from their USA warehouse to UK warehouse, and then from the UK warehouse ship to you, theirfor not paying customs :)

Yep, on their website it pretty much states that you will have to pay any fees but if you email them and send them proof they will refund all charges but there shouldnt be any as for the past few days they have had stock of PSP Value Packs inside the UK.

Q: Are shipments Liable To Tax & Duty?
A: Yes as a rule all items over £18 in value are liable for Customs Tax & Duty.
Customers of this site are responsible for paying local countries import taxes / duty and are none refundable by us.

source: MovieTyme F.A.Q

Theirfor why would they refund :-\
Should have checked that out before purchasing.. probably gonna cost another £40-£50 now on top for the customs (guess)

Edit: I just recieved an email saying it has been despatched, hopefully its in the UK.. if not - i was thinking i might get around the customs duty because i selected Special Delivery Next Day... so i assume MovieTyme will ship it to their UK warehouse, then rebox it up and send it Special Delivery, thus, they`d have to pay the customs not me... i`ll let you know if it turns up tomorrow
