Page 1 of XBOX (or other) and package deals, advice please????

Right, I`m sure this has all been asked before, but here it is....

Was in Torys`R`Us yesterday briefly, and had a quick play on Project Gotham on the X-Box. I was blown away! The graphics are phenominal. I am thus tempted to buy an X-Box, as the two types of games I am big fans of are Car games, and 1st/3rd Person games (Halo, Max Payne etc). Is the X-Box good for these, or does another console have better games in these 2 categories?

Additionally, Toys`R`Us have certain `bundle deals` for around £150-£170 (varying packages such as X-Box console, Project Gotham, Halo, and some cartooney game that isnt of interest (Crash Bandicoot perhaps - cant remember for sure)). Are there any particularly good deals out there for bundles, that include games like Halo, Project Gotham etc, that I simply MUST go for (perhaps Argos, HMV, Virgin or elsewhere). I have read in this forum about a special £129.99 bundle that has either just been released or will be on offer soon - but I can`t find any other information about this. It is "Xbox plus Halo, Midtown Madness, Rainbow Six 3 and XIII for 129.99 - the same price as the Gotham 2 bundle." What is this Project Gotham bundle - and where do i get it?

Obviously I don`t know anything about the best bargains to get, or which retailer offers the best deals (perhaps they are cheaper online?). Any advice would be really appreciated - cheers.

Firstly - I`d DEFINITELY recommend an Xbox, if only for PGR and Halo...I`ll let the Ogster wax lyrical about it :D

Game have these deals on at the moment...there`s a crystal Xbox now, looks pretty cool...

The xbox bundle you mentioned which contains Halo, Midtown Madness 3, XIII and Rainbow Six 3 is now available for £139.99 in shops now which is slightly more than had previously been said, but is still good value for money.

Chipping it opens it up to SO much more. Massive homebrew/emulation scene, ability to play import DVDs, playing copied games if thats your thing. You can even happily run Linux on it :)

anyone here knows anything about software modding the xbox?

Microsoft won`t allow any software mods a licence. There is a region X disc for the Xbox, but microsoft won`t let Datel have the license so its currently sitting on the shelves gathering dust. Moneygrabbing M$
