I have a ps2 and you chaps say there are no 5.1 games. I am buying a G cube for the kids and does this machine have a digital output and does it give 5.1 sound?? I have a cinema amp so connecting is no problem. Ta Grant

Xbox is the only console to give 5.1 surround sound.

GC has stereo analogue out, and thats it.
Some games support Pro Logic 2 though, so if you have a cinema amp that supports it you can get five channel surround which is very good, but still not as good as true 5.1 discrete.

Actually the pro logic 2 on the cube is fantastic - Rogue Leader is amazing with TIE fighters screaming all around you and laser fire coming from every direction.
Theres some other games with some really nice subtle touches - on the new Mario Kart, when a shell is approaching you from behind you get the sound creepig up on you.
And get Eternal Darkness, turn the lights off and play that - the wife thought I was murdering someone in the front room.

SP here, with regard to my mentioning of GTAVC, I was refering to the 1st thread

I know GC is`nt 5.1
PS2 has a couple of games which are 5.1, albeit DTS, GTAVC & SSX Tricky if I`m not mistaken.
