Page 1 of Def Jam Vendetta...any good?

Looking for a good fighting game for the playstation 2 so I can kick the sh*t out of some cocky mates we were thinking of getting this is it any good or can you recomend something else?

If you liked the old WWF & WCW games on the N64(No Mercy, Wrestlemania 2000 & WCW v`s NWO) then this is the Next Gen version. Controls are almost identical but the completely over the top finishers are where the fun really starts!

Played the demo of this game from the official Playstation 2 mag, the graphics, sound and presentation are 1st class and its plays well too.

From what i`ve read the single player mode gets a bit tired after a couple of days but the 2 & 4 player matches are great.

Wait a second, do you mean this plays almost identically to the WCW vs NWO games from the N64 days?!? The ones with Saladin, Dim Sum and The Steiner Brothers?

If so, then I think I`ll pick up a copy of Def Jam Vendetta this weekend. Those N64 wrestling games were first class, and have provided me with some brilliant multiplayer gaming sesssions in the past. I wonder if it allows you to slap LL Cool J about a bit?

Also, I`ve just read an article that says the game contains actual tunes from Def Jam artists too. Sounds like a must-have title to me!

yeah its more like WCW World Tour than the other latter games though, u cant do all the tricks like the N64 Aki games, dragging them, dumping them in upside down in the corner, putting them on ure shoulder for the double team...

its good put it p***ed me off why its using the old AKi engine from 4 yrs ago, not with all the tricks of No Mercy...

still its better gameplay than Smackdown and the Rappers and music are really good, but u need to unlock people for every player if u wanna use everyone on 4 player mode????????? meaning u would need 4 memory cards and Def Jam unlock saves copied on each one...

its good fun but the N64 ones are better

I`ve been playing it for a few days now, and its a good game I must admit. It can be a little irritating in single player mode, just because at times it can be quite difficult. Currently I`m stuck on fighting "N.O.R.E"; any tips guys?

The finishing "Blazin" moves are top quality, and the music is good too. Like B4ilz said, to have all characters on multi player selection every body has to unlock them, which is a bit pointless in my opinion. Still, I do recommend it, and I think it has got good reviews. Definitely have a go at 1 person vs. 3 in multi-player mode as well, as it can be a real laugh.

I ended up picking up a copy from my local Woolworths last night, and I have to say I`m hugely impressed. I couldn`t help laughing when two `honeys` started fighting over my character, but the real belly laughs came from the totally over the top finishing moves.

Superb stuff.

Thanks for the feed back guys i got it yesterday and really love it I will practice a bit before my mates come round at the weekend then slap the flavour out of there mouths! any one got any good moves? or tips? I have seen a cheat to unlock all the players but have not used it yet. Is it worth spending my well earned cash on buying photos of my girlfriend or are they pretty tame?
