Do the uk xbox output progressive scan images when connected via component video to a suitable TV?

RAFL - I very much doubt it - the cheapest standalone DVD player is £200 which has been reviewed as a bargain ! ( Up until 2 months ago the cheapest was £400 )

I cant be 100% sure but id put money on it NOT being progressive scan.

Do you mean progressive scan for games?
If so, I don`t see how the price point will be an issue seeing as the US xbox does. Doubt we`ll ever see HDTV here tho`..

The XBOX is capable of progressive scan for DVD`s but in its original state the feature is locked out. If you get it "chipped", install EVO-X and get the free dvd player software installed called DVD-X they have, I think, unlocked progressive scan.
