god these things are like gold dust! i live in manchester and cant find one anywhere. can anyone point me in the right direction? also does anyone know of the best deals? or are the standard affairs like in dixons about as good as deals get?

yeah seen that deal from dixsons its quite good £147 delivered with spiderman the movie-game..not bad..

I might be too late to help you but if not the best deal I know of is...

Buy a Gamecube from Currys.co.uk with 2 games and an extra dodgy controller for £200 and use this discount `10offrep2` (10% off) to get it down to £180. (I bought ISS2 and Star Wars)

Then buy the `Super Smash Bros Melee/Dodgy controller` package (£45) from Dixons.co.uk, and buy another official pad as well for £25. Using the 3 following discount codes `10offrep2`, `cubeperiph2` and `cubejune2` you can get that lot for £55. (You can use all 3 codes at the same time - one is for 10% off, one for a fiver off and one for £7.50 off I think...)

So....

Adding it all together you will get a Cube, 4 control pads (2 official and 2 dodgy) and 3 games (one of which must SSBM which shouldn`t matter because it`s the best cube game anyway) for £230!

Everything should be in stock...I`ve ordered and received it all recently.
However it takes about a week for delivery..so no chance of getting it `now` as such.

Incidentally if I`ve broken any rules just delete my post mods - perhaps this should be in the bargains forum? I think the Dixon`s/ Curry`s codes are there anyway...

I`ve just been to my local Game store (Portsmouth) and they seem to be doing some pretty good deals. The one that interests me is the 2 game deal, but I`ll try and explain the lot.

Basically, if you buy a console only, it`ll cost you £129.

It`ll cost you another £25 for each game you buy with it.

If you want extra Official controllers, they will set you back £20 if bought at the same time.

The best thing about this is that you can choose ANY gamecube games, not just a few from a selection. It also means that you can put preorders into the selection, thus earning double points on the reward card.

For me, I`ll get one console, 2 controllers and 2 games (probably Pikmin and F1 2002) for £200.

Only one question I have - do they still do student discount?????
