I havent got the dvd yet but its meant to be great. I saw the film at the cinema and loved it. This may have been because i have seen all his other movies so u might want to catch them first???

Mallrats is my favourite Kevin Smith film and the dvd is one of my favourites as well. Mallrats is definetly worth getting. You have to watch it atleast 2 times and you will enjoy it. The extras are interesting and worth seeing. There is over an hour of deleted scenes.

If you arent really a fan then i wouldnt recomend u get chasing amy or clerks. Chasing Amy has a hilarious climax but is not that funny all the way thru althought the commentary rocks
Clerks is quiet funny and also has a hilarious climax but its shot in black and white and is very amateur as it was KS`s first movie

Dogma is cool and funny and features top hollywood stars so whether your a Kevin Smith fan or not, you will like this movie.
I recommend the 2 disc region 1 SE version of the film which includes tons of extras. Believe me Kevin Smith knows how to make dvds.
None of them are lacking in extras

yeah, all the discs have loads of extras. they aren`t all necessarily great, but there are plenty of them

you realise that most of the Dogma stuff was cut for a reason :(

steer clear of Clerks regardless, cos there`s apparantly gonna be a 10th anniversary edition out at some point, so hold on for that one

i`d recommend the clerks animated series 2disc set. a piece of history! i found it hilarious

i`m still working my way through JASBSB, but so far the deleted scenes are shaping up nicely

Yep I got J&SBSB form PLAY. I didn`t enjoy it as much as I did in the cinema. Everyone in that audience was up for it and he laughter was infectious. Still a feature packed DVD though. I`ve watched everything except the feature commentary.

Does this differ from the UK cinema release? I felt that it wasn`t as full on as the cinema version - as if alot of those `deleted scenes` were part of the UK release. But they cut it to get an R rating in the US/Canada.

Classic line from the DVD - Kevin smith is introducing a clip with his [2 year old?] daugher in his arms.
KS - can you say `Buy Jay & Silent Bob Merchandise`?
Little Girl - mmm ggrrg Buy STUFF
KS - Pimp for Daddy, pimp for daddy!

I found myself laughing all the way through, which is strange because i usually don`t like crude films full of knob and fart jokes but Kevin Smith (not to mention Scott Mosier and Vincent Pereira) is a genius. The way that all his movies are interconnected with the main focus being around that few days after Julie Dwyer`s death in the YMCA pool and how people grow and change (except Jay and Silent Bob). It`s a shame it`s the last time we`ll see Jay and Silent Bob in one of Kevin`s live action films but the 42 deleted scenes and all the extras kept me occupied for ages.

Roll on Clerks 2!

Its the best 20 million dollar piece of self aggrandisement ever! In all seriousness, its good fun, not to be taken seriously, and features some fine looking women! Mallrats is a great film too, very good dvd, excellent commentary - 2 hours of taking the p*** out of Ben Affleck! Marvellous. Clerks is good too, and gets better with repeat viewings - especially when you consider its mostly shot at night (after KS finished working at the Quick Stop) and done on a hand camera. Chasing Amy is worth watching just for the joke about Archie comics "It`s all about the pussy man"! And Dogma is good too, even if it is a bit too preachy in places.
Has Kevin Smith made a bad film yet?
