Not Anticipating Remakes thread

Quote:
Billy Bob Thornton will star as Freddy Krueger in a new Nightmare On Elm Street movie.

The 53-year-old actor will take on the chilling role in a remake of the 1984 original.

Robert Englund, who played the part in eight films, revealed that Thornton will star in the horror films and is an "excellent choice" for the role.

He adds, "A big budget should mean the film will look a lot better than some of the old movies."

I`ve yet to see a good remake of an old 70s/80s low budget classic.

I thought Hills Have Eyes was easily better than the original. Snyder`s Dawn of the Dead remake was also pretty darn enjoyable.

Let`s face it, they are going to remake it no matter what, so let`s just hope they don`t balls it up.

The thing with Zombie movies is that providing theyre good as theres no main star who cant be replaced in a remake theyre ok.

Ditto movies where the protagonist wears a mask, Halloween and Friday 13th, its just a dude in a mask so can be anyone.

Only Robert Englund can be Freddie, end of story. Same with Evil Dead, therell only ever be one Ash

Hollywood is offically dead as the last drop of originality has been drained

i don`t mind remakes, because at the end of the day, it takes nothing away from the original, & if you don`t like it, just don`t watch it... pretty simple ;)

for me, if it looks good, i`ll go watch it...

Bit of a missed opportunity to have Englund back isn`t it? He won`t look any older than Thornton under the make-up. I read about that Rocky Horror thing today as well. What a load of arse.
