Given the whole hype and millions of dollars thrown at trying to get whichever movie nominated is this annual love fest really worth a damn.

A bit of both - its is, after all, just another movie awards ceremony and they can`t all be right all of the time. The Academy have had their fair share of f***-ups in their time but got most things right this year. Just because it takes place in LA rather than Paris or London doesn`t mean it`s more important than the Cesars or Baftas but the voting panel is rather impressive but not worth the hype or money that`s lauded on the ceremony.

Not really interested in them other it occasionally throws up a decent film I may not have heard of (especially in the Foreign category...).

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...

And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

The Oscars ceremony always seems more repressed than other Award ceremonies. Saw it once and I nearly threw up, so never watched it again. They should cover Cannes with equal publicity. It has more substance.
