Worst ever "Special Edition" DVDs??

kevin woolard (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 27th December 2006, 23:34

And the nominations are:

The Wedding Singer: Totally Awesome Edition

Special Features:

• More prime footage than ever before (ahem, 3 - count them - 3 extra minutes!!)
• "80s Mix tapes" - Jump to a song feature (er, so not a scene selection then, wow)
• And more! (well, a behind the scenes documentary about the wedding singer the musical AND the original theatrical trailer).

OK, so I only paid £4.97 at Woolworths but even at that it`s not going in the Bargain Buckets forum.

Anybody else know of useless, not worth the money, "special editions".

Gripe over!!

id say `labyrinth` collector`s edition its practically identical to the normal edition same documentary etc same transfer everything is just the same apart from a couple of still galleries which could`ve easily fitted on the normal edition ended up selling the collector`s edition on ebay

Not saying it is the worst ever, but I wasn`t enamoured with the "Psycho" special edition release from last year.

I was waiting years for a decent edition of The Big Lebowski and then the `special edition` came out last year and the only extras were a `making of` feature and an introduction!! not enough to make me buy the film over again (i already have the `vanilla` version of the movie)

I`m sure there is potential for a better dvd than that.

most dvds are now labeled special edition. Special editions to me are like the old laserdisc boxsets I used to get with soundtrack cd and lithograths etc etc. Plus most laserdiscs were uncut versions and unrated. Special editions to me should really be added minutes into the film and we do not get that much of this in the retail first dvds.

Ill stick to my Laserdisc special editions as I favour these more IMO
