Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang: Any good?

biglebowski (Elite) posted this on Sunday, 22nd October 2006, 12:57

It`s available for £5 on cd-wow
and i have some £2 vouchers that expire at the end of november, burning a virtual hole in my virtual pocket.

It got pretty good reviews on rotten tomatoes (83%, link here)

Just wondering if anyone has any advice. I`m sick of buying dvd`s that i watch once and never again.

It`s great fun. Downey Jr`s best film in my opinion. Well worth your time and £3.

I only saw it recently, but yes it is terrific fun. Very witty script, with some excellent jokes (I loved the "my friend Flicka" gag). Val Klimer was terrific as "Gay" Perry too. A bargain at three quid I`d say. If you find you hate it, sell it on to me :)

Written by Shane Black, the dude who did Lethal Weapon and The Last Boy Scout. Bought it from CD-Wow myself the other day and it has the commentary etc that`s missing from the UK R2. Not watched it yet though.

I thought it was okay, although I expected far more from it. I felt like the film was constantly slapping me in the face and saying `look at me, look how clever and self referential I am`.

Same here, I did enjoy it but because of the hype was expecting a bit more. Like has been said above it was a bit over the top at some points trying to prove how clever it was.

If your talking about 3quid with your vouchers then I`d definately say its worth a purchase.
