RE: Lard - three colours trilogy coming out soon
Ok, had a look (and wiped my chin)...
(a) How come we`ve heard nothing about these releases? I`ve been scouring the DVD news sites for about a year now and nothing. Weird.
(b) How did they manage to get Kieslowski to record `scene by scene commentary`? He`s dead! Must`ve been before he croaked I guess...
These will probably be the first Region 2 DVD`s I`ve ever bought. Wow.

Ok, dvddebate.com had the news item but I missed it or something. Artificial Eye are releasing them all with remastered, widescreen anamorphic transfers with DD5.1 French audio and English subtitles. For the record, Miramax (part of Disney) own the US rights so who knows if the yanks will ever get these discs? Score one for Region 2. The commentary`s are not the usual yack track stuff, but a masterclass on each feature by the man himself recorded before he died (obviously).
Ordered and eagerly awaiting...

RE: Lard - three colours trilogy coming out soon
Any news on if they are going to be packaging them together or all seperately, I`m sure somewhere like HMV or WH Smiths might have some kind of exclusive box set but has anyone heard anything
RE: Lard - three colours trilogy coming out soon
Well Play only have them seperately but I`m sure they`ll eventually package it as a box set. Here`s hoping!

Ok, got all 3 on Saturday morning. In seperate boxes with reversible artwork (standard and new Artificial eye covers). Haven`t had a chance to watch the flicks in full yet but I did check out the quality and it seems good. Sat mesmerised by the first few minutes of Blue, you know, the car crash. Still one of the best opening scenes ever. The masterclass extras look interesting too, Kieslowski sat in front of an old video machine talking in detail about some of the scenes. Well worth getting.

OK kids, I`ve never seen red, white or blue. Should I? Is it worth jumping in with DVD, or shall I pop to videoshop first where they have these in the foreign section. I am down with the French film stuff...so to speak. If I miss them am I missing out?
