The Changeling, Near Dark are set to be remade, but there is also one landmark horror/thriller which is also set to be remade.

SPOILER:
THE BIRDS

What on earth are they thinking?

`Near Dark` is a great film and one of the few (if not the only) horror film I can think of that was directed by a woman - I would have thought it would be too recent to remake, but may push people in the direction of the original. As for the abomination that has been suggested, didn`t people learn anything from Van Sant`s `Psycho`? >:(

Written by, I think, but not directed. Not sure about the sequels, though.

As far as The Birds is concerned, Im fairly sure that Hollywood has learned its lesson from the Van Sant disaster. I mean, what is the point of taking something like that shot for shot? No one could match perkins performance, so it was automatically a worse film, right from the get go.

Im sure that the pitch for this remake went something like `Y`Know what I watched yesterday? The birds. Y`Know what I noticed? There arent many birds in it. I think the CGI Monkeys I worked with on my last crappy movie could build a cloud of birds big enough to scare the crap out of any girl and slightly effeminate guy who is afraid of birds`. I really think its that simple. I mean weve seen it before. Old movies that have just had CGI shoehorned into them.

Oh, and, to be fair, although it didnt really add a lot to it, I really enjoyed the Dawn of The Dead and The Hills Have Eyes remakes.

What im listening to (if youre interested)

Wasn`t Pet Semetary directed by a woman? That was pretty horrific.
Mary Lambert I believe her name was.

Well, on the plus side, if they do The Birds they probably couldn`t get a worse actress than Tippi Hedren. Of course, they could prove me wrong by putting Sarah Michelle Gellar in it.

The little evil zombie baby was so hilarious, after his dad gets him with the hypodermic needle he goes "Oh no!" in the *cutest* voice! :D

The sister with spinal meningitis though... oh *f**** no! :(:(
