I`ve recently bought The Army Of Darkness off ebay (because i`m a HUGE evil dead fan), and was wondering which of the many versions it
is.
while i was watching i noticed several scenes missing and some diolog changes compared to my Pal VHS copy, heres a few i can see :-

Good ash has just shot evil ash in the face and on my VHS he says "i`m not that good",
but on the DVD he says "good?.. Bad?... i`m the one with the gun"

when evil ash has got Sheela he rips her dress down to reveal her breasts and and gasps this scene is completley missing.


the Dvd apears to be a Anchor Bay release, it has a shot of Evil ash on the cover and 2 skeletons plus the THX stuff on the bottom.

Have i been ripped off or is it a worth while keep?

I`ve got the R1 version. Sounds the same as yours - same cover art.

I`m not a big fan, but enjoyed it at the cinema, so I don`t know about the dialogue changes or breasts (I normally remember stuff like that!).

It does have the 2 endings - original cinema and video release. 16:9 & 4:3 versions. Behind the scenes featurette.

have a look at the directors cut, its got some interesting scene changes and extended sequences. but only the video ending-but the windmill scene is much longer.

the UK cut of this film was better than the american theatrical. There`s an extra bit of footage in the scene where Sheila is delivered to Evil Ash in the cemetery where he rips her top open and eyes her up. Why this wasn`t restored to the director`s cut, I don`t know.

I know of at least five versions of this film so far.
