Question about Highlander 2 dvd

carl6018 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 25th October 2005, 21:06

Hi, I was going to get a r1 version of Highlander 2 from Movietyme and noticed that there is a renegade version and a special edition version. I was going to get the special edition version which has more special features and was wondering if that has the same extra footage that the renegade version has. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Got to agree one hell of a fecking awful movie!

Interesting fact number 1: I`m in Highlander Endgame - scene filmed in the Millennium Dome - in the background of the central show performance!! Well I was chuffed about it :/

I personally think Highlander is way overrated! Highlander 2 may not have been true to the story but is almost a better film. Not perhaps as in a Highlander film but just a flick to watch.

Neither film deserves a Special Edition however :) /me ducks ;)

Stupid quotes - after all this time I still haven`t managed to get them working.... ;-)

Seriously though, Highlander 2 is pure and utter s***e - even Russell "Razorback" Mulcahy says so.

You, as others, have simply got tied up with the fact that as a sequel it was/is s***. As a standalone film it`s OK. Highlander 1 has a good premise but the plotline is vapour thin and the acting (bar Connery) is wooden.

I also dislike the forum system here and have long given up trying to use anything than the reply button :)

if you watch the special features on the renegade version lambert talk about filming the original "cinema" cut for Highlander 2, basicaly both he & connery thought it was absolute shiete but there hands where tied by the contracts they had signed after the first movie, lambert said he went back to the movie in the renegade version to "try" & get it a bit more on target, but even he says it`s still pretty pants :( (i think in an interview he says something like "it`s less awfull than before")

worth having for completist reasons but nothing else, personaly i`d rather forget about the film altogether :¦
