Can anybody tell me if the original Planet of the Apes series will be released on Region 2? Or re-released on region 1 Any dates?

If memory serves, Ezydvd have it on R4 fairly cheap. Can`t access the site today but I think it`s around the tenner mark.

Over on Amazon they have a release date of August 21st and a price of $67.48 for the Planet of the apes: Evolution box set, I`m tempted but I`m waiting to hear of any region 2 news

Well......over on amazon.co.uk, they have a release date of 8th OCTOBER for the first POTA movie (way to cash in on the new movie.........not!)
They also have listed a POTA "collection" for 8th October, for £30.99. I have no idea what will be included, but have a feeling at that price, it will be the first movie on one disc, "Beneath" and "Escape" on another, and "Conquest" and "Battle" on another - very similar to the UK video box-set.
If this is the case, it is a bit disapointing - especially compared to the fantastic 6 disc R1 set "Evolution" (ie. each film on a seperate disc, extras etc, and the bonus disc of the amazing 2 hour "Behind the POTA").
I`ve got the "Evolution" set as I was fed up of waiting for a R2 release, and just KNEW the R1 set would be much better! You can still find them at a reasonable price on eBay. Also, a new R1 set is being released on 21st August - I`m not sure if this will include the extra "Behind..." disc, because..........
.......on 7th August, a R1, 2-disc "special collectors edition" of Behind the POTA is being released lasting - get this - 319 MINS!!! WOW!! I can`t wait for this!
