Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I watched this on New Year`s Day, I know it`s been out for while but Jim Carey puts me off everything. However, i loved it, really really thought it was great and Jim Carey didn`t pull one rubber face.
I know it`s a Charlie Kaufman film and that he also did Adaptation, has anyone seen it? Can anyone tell me what other films he`s done and what they`re like? pleeeeeeeease.
RE: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Adaptation is brilliant. He also wrote Human Nature, also directed by Gondry - which I haven`t seen. Oh, and Being John Malkovich - which is good in a bizarre way. :D
Oh my God, Bear is driving! How can that be?
RE: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Adaptation and BJM are both excellent - I`d love to know what goes on in Charlie Kaufman`s head!

RE: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I haven`t seen Adaptation, but when I saw Eternal Sunshine (loved it) I described it by saying "It`s like Being John Malkovich" - but I didn`t realise it was the same guy. I`ll have to see Adaptation.

RE: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Oh I saw Being John Malkovich years ago at the cinema i remember getting half way through and realising it really was Cameron Diaz in the film.
What`s Adaptation about, I don`t know anything about it?
Can`t tell you how much I loved Eternal Sunshine, went straight out and bought it and watched it again.
RE: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Not heard of Human Nature before will have to google it. That Gondry bloke was great i really liked the way he came across in the extra`s and all his filming techniques instead of using cgi, nice.
RE: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Adaptation really is great. I have to say i think it just pips ESOTSM......but only just.
Confessions of a dangerous mind is also pretty good although I do remember Kaufman getting a bit angry because clooney shut him out and didn`t let him have more involvement !! but i still liked that even if it is a little wierd 8) !!

RE: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
human nature is a little odd to say the least, rhys iffans, tim robbins, patricia arquette and miranda otto (eowyn). there is a lot of nudity in this film, but thats all part of the plot. i remembered seeing the trailer a few years back and seeing rhys in a restaurant trying to get it on with the waitress, in a primal way.
not as good as esotsm or adaptation, both excellent but well worth a look, our local vid shop has it in the £1 section i think. better than i thought it would be.

What`s Adaptation about, I don`t know anything about it?Have a read of the information at IMDb; it is a terrific movie and deserves its place in the top 250. Very few movies are `must see` but if you liked ESOTSM, this is one of them.

RE: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind to me is definately Jim Carey`s finest. I too have been put off his films, even in his interviews he plays the daft character, but in this he is absolutely awesome.
Oh and I saw The Grinch at xmas for the first time, and have to say, I enjoyed it very much!!!
