Ive got a cupboard I need to use for storage, but its full of VHS movies and books and I`d like to get rid of them,Ive tried to sell them to 2nd hand book/movie/record sellers but most of them wont touch VHS movies ( I lugged 15 movies to Manchester including Simpsons season 2 boxset 1, re-animator 2, blob, rambo 1-3 etc and was offered a measly £1 because vhs dont sell) I know theres ebay but I want to get rid of a lot. any suggestions.

Charity shop. You won`t get any money, but it`s only a bit worse than *hardly any* money. I`m sure the people who buy them will appreciate it and the shop will appreciate the money.

Gave mine to a care home about 2 years ago.

Is that the time? Give me a minute and I will be there when I finish on the comp!

We have a local second hand DVD/video shop and hes gives a free DVD in exchange for 5 Videos
Not much whaen you consider how much you bought them for origionally but better than a smack in the gob with a wet kipper
Id ring round your local small second hand shops and see what you can get :)

lol, i did the same thing. they then gave em to the local charity shop as they don`t use "videos" anymore, just dvd`s (so i sort of "helped" them out with loads of disney dvd`s ;) )

A few years ago now, in fact it was 2001 just before the time of the terrorist attacks on the WTC, I decided that VHS was, for all intents and purposes, dead. I had what I considered to be a fairly large collection of tapes (about 350) all retail bought and in good nick. As a regular reader of a popular movie mag, I noticed an advert for FilmVault at the back, stating that they are looking to buy collections of tapes and games. Basically they are a specialist in home collection buying, I remember the guy I spoke to told me that they re-stock rental shops for example, after burglary or fires and stuff like that.

Not having the internet at the time I had to do it all by post and phone, but they were very friendly and I got a very good deal. Be warned though, by now your VHS tapes are going to be worth very little indeed! However it`s got to be worth a shot. Try them at www.filmvault.co.uk or phone them on 01865 361 000. Good luck!
