Haute Tension - cd-wow exclusive

Arf (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 9th December 2004, 21:00

Limited edition, they say.

Just spotted this, region 3 (apparently Korean), 2-disc, £11.99, advertised as strictly limited, uncut, out next week.

EDIT: cd-wow are a bit vague about the specs but it looks like this one. So `exclusive` might be a wee fib.

Another edit: the Korean site linked above appears to have had a 1-disc cut version available for some time as it`s in their bargain bin for under $5!

Also heard a lot about this. Have been told to get the original French language edition (which this appears to be) as a lot of peeps seem to thing the dubbed version loses a lot of the erm tension! :/

Theres a dubbed version !!!
The one I saw at the cinema was in french and the trailer has practically no talking in it at all, a trick usually used to disguise the fact that its in a foreign language (see brotherhood of the wolf trailer)

I`d hardly call that a trick since

a) the sole purpose of a trailer is to make you want to see the film. I thought (as the first example that springs to mind) that Armageddon looked good from the trailer; and when I saw the film I realised that the only reason it looked good was because the trailer had no dialogue in it either.

b) most good films these days are in foreign languages; foreign to me, anyway.

The dubbed version is on the Thai disc release. I`ve only seen this so far in the original French and without subs, but given that for most of the running time there is no dialogue anyway, I was happily counting the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

The fact that there is barely any dialogue throughout is probably the main reason there`s barely any in the trailer. ;)

Oh my God, Bear is driving! How can that be?

It`s CUT.

I`ve just skimmed through mine - not from cd-wow but it looks like the same edition from Korea - and it`s 86 min, not 91. That scene featuring creative furniture-moving is not complete. I`m contacting dvdfromkorea about a return, but meanwhile if anyone who gets theirs from cd-wow discovers it`s uncut, please give a shout. Grrrrr. >:(
