Biggest film disappointment of 2004?
RE: Biggest film disappointment of 2004?
Apologies for the predictability but AvP.
I never expected much from anderson and he delivered even less. Hopefully the DC will make some restitiution.
And the mrs has chipped in with the new Bridget Jones film. Which is, apparently, a stinker.
I Dont know Karate...but I know Ker-azy!

I can`t think of one film that was poor when I expected it to be good:
Exorcist - The Beginning was worse than I thought possible of a movie,
AVP was as bad as I expected,
Mambo Italiano was crap but I hadn`t heard/read anything about it,
The Village was a major let-down but MKS hasn`t made a decent movie in years.
Despite having seen more turkeys than I can remember (or want to remember) this year, having made Shrek and Shrek 2, Dreamworks really let themselves (and the audience) down to then produce the incredibly poor Shark Tale.

The Chronicles of Riddick.
I like Pitch Black and quite like some of David Twohy`s other stuff. But this was big budget sci-fi garbage with zero point and a complete lack of good ideas. I was hoping for a fun time... but instead it was just boring.

Saw was a major let down.
The Grudge (US Version) i found to be very over rated.
The Village - I thought this was bloody awful

Alfie - What an absolute waste of time.
Bridget Jones - Edge of Reason - Even the women I know think its naff.
RE: Biggest film disappointment of 2004?
Well, I`m sorry, but I thought Lost in Translation was the biggest pile of poo I`ve seen in many a long year...
All those shots of Miss Dullsville "I have no life" sitting on the windowsill in her pants - jeez! - I bet she had piles after that!
RE: Biggest film disappointment of 2004?
Either: Kill Bill vol.2 or The Chronicles of Riddick
Expected a lot more from both films in all honesty; especially considering they followed on from great films.
Oh my God, Bear is driving! How can that be?
RE: Biggest film disappointment of 2004?
The following weren`t really a massive disappointment, as I didn`t expect much to begin with. Anyway, I found these to be worse than I thought they would be:
Chronicles of Riddick (so useless I just gave away my check disc without watching it)
Shrek 2 (not as good as the first)
Starsky and Hutch (no, really,why?)
The Bourne Supremacy (not crap, but not as good as the first)
Alien vs Predator (expected very little, got even less)
Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason (the Mrs liked it, I thought it was a sad parody)
Kill Bill (the only Tarantino film(s) I don`t own)
I, Robot (I feel an urge to buy some Converse trainers and JVC electrical goods)
Bubba Ho Tep (nowhere near as good as everyone said)
Big Fish (why is Burton rated so highly)
I`ve actually forgotten most of the films I went to see this year. Only Shaun of the Dead, The Last Samurai and Spider-Man 2 were better than I thought they would be. I quite liked Hellboy as well. Lost in Translation doesn`t count as it was released last year. I`m hoping Blade: Trinity will be half decent though. Thank God for all those older films I bought this year.
