DVDs & Films Forum
Hi,
Are any of the Star Wars films out on DVD?
If not, are there any plans to release any of them?
Thanks
Ian
Hi Beale
You have officially entered the longest running debate in the short but sweet history of DVD !
George Lucas just won`t go for it, for some reason only known to him. All Star Wars and Indiana Jones (and we can only anticipate how brilliant they`d sound on DVD) films are on indefinite non-release at present.
It`ll be one of the biggest talking points when the films do make it onto the silver disc.
In the meantime, be very aware of the amount of unscrupulous vendors on auction sites like QXL who are offering `DVDs` of these and other films. They are poor quality transfers, which would make the VCD format seem fantastic.
lan Beale? Eastenders box set anyone?
Keep it quiet! I`m not out of the clear for shooting Phil yet ;-p
Ian (Stewart)
It`s got to be Phil`s ex-girlfrend, no fun if it wasn`t
I reckon it was Sue Ellen, myself....
...or exiled brother Grant maybe ?
RE: Star Wars
there is a rumour based on a leaked memo, that star wars dvd is being worked on - look at the web site `coming attractions`.
Nah, it was me definately, why else would I be paying Billy Mitchell £100 to keep quiet? Just don`t tell the old bill!
Ian
Lee Harvey Oswald?
I`m sorry but the greedy bastard (George Lucas) wants to milk the VHS market for all it`s worth before having it transfered to DVD. It makes sense: Let everyone who likes the film buy it on VHS then, when sales start dropping, release a DVD version. Then, a year or so later, release a "Special Edition" DVD series. Then, about another year later, release an antidiscombobulated, reenhancmentationalisticated, superduperhyperdyperreelinthebigbucks smash hit version. Then another year later.......etc......
Cynical? Maybe. The truth? Probably. Greedy bastard? Definately.
