I`m going to wait till the extended edition comes out, no point on having the same films twice.

just finished watching this on dvd.

despite it being around 5 months since i last saw it and only watching it at home it was still fantastic.

things like, its pacing become clearer the more you watch it because it picks up at the right moments. one thing though, i did stop it around half way through to go for a break, this wasent to do with the length, i didnt have a break at the cinema, but more to do with the extended editions, and how used to them we are, the film being split in two, although im glad i did have a break.

What do you mean no point having the same film twice. The TE and the EE are very different entities indeed and both imho are worth owning. Saw this today for the first time since December and I must agree with the other poster that this is still a fantastic film and on DVD you really get to savour the more emotional aspects of the film. Despite being the longest film of the three this certainly flies by at a terrific pace.

Region two copies of this have been on sale for weeks. I know quite a few people in uk.media.dvd have been selling them on already.

FINALLY. Had a very happy self satisfied morning. Now all I have to do is wait for the EE version to come out.
