Page 1 of LOTR - Two Towers. Which region?

I have held off buying this, waiting for the price to drop, now I see Amazon have the 4 disc for £15.99 + p&p.

What are the differences beyween r1 and r2?
I know on the first film people raised issues about sound and packaging - do these still continue with this film?

get region 1, as region 2 doesn`t have the easter egg of the funny MTV movie awards where Gollum has a massive rant when receiving the award.

Yep agree, R1 is better that R2

R1 has much nicer packaging too - same visually but in a sturdy board box instead of the R2 cereal box cardboard.

Having bought it for my brother for his birthday about a month ago I had to wait to watch it till he had seen it. So I borrowed it and have just seen it last night and it was brill. Gets some use out of the rear speaker during dramitx moments and when there horse riding, which was nice and although i don`t have dolby digital EX i have dolby digital so it worked 5.1 nicely.

Although in the credits i see the DTS logo but on the dvd (reigion 2) it has no DTS just DD EX and dolby stereo 2.0 channels sound. Is the R1 version DTS btw as DTS is usually the best aint it?

disc 2 full of features, box was just a dvd box just the norm plastic case.

Oh and this is the normal 2 disc special edition i think not the 4`dvd extended one. but i`ll be buying the extended triple pack when its out later this year if my guess is right.

There is no DTS on the 2 Disc LOTR DVD`s in any Region, this only appears on the Extended 4 Disc editions.
