CTHD (again!)

Guy mk2 (Competent) posted this on Saturday, 3rd March 2001, 17:14

According to MovieTyme:

`ERA, the Hong Kong distributer of the DVD, have informed us that the new pressing of the Region 3 DVD of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon will not have English subtitles or the English dub track. Due to the mass exportation of the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon DVD outside of Region 3, Columbia/Tristar felt it necessary to reauthor the DVD and remove both the English subtitles and the English dub track.`

Bummer (especially since I`m still waiting for my copy).

I cancelled my order with Movietyme last Wednesday and then ordered it with http://www.dvdasian.com. It came in the post today! Go to these, I really do recommend them. It`s the original proper version too.

Is region 3 NTSC or PAL ? What is the quality of the DVD like ?

This does seem expensive as well, I worked out about £21 plus with delivery......

£21 isn`t that dear, especially new. People on Ebay have been trading it for nearly double that (might have aswell), but you go along to dvdforum and offered it for £25, they`d be interest (and the people there usually exchange for a low price, so you can see how elusive this is). Mines cost £21 from dddhouse (when you check your CC bill). You can always wait for the region 1 version (going to be getting that aswell. And this is someone that hought it was only good). You want to save money, wait. I think it was June/may release. and hen it should be around £14/5 peodered.

It`s NTSC, and the quality is just as good as you`d expect from any top release. And it`s really not that dear, but then it also depends on how much you want the film.
