Page 1 of Dawn of the dead?
DVDs & Films Forum
Hey
I was watching an old vid of Romero`s classic "Dawn of the Dead" and pondered buying the R2 DVD. However I am a little sceptical as it was pretty cheap (£12.99 in HMV) and reckon the picture will be of poor quality just like the pathetic "Halloween 2", which is the worst quality DVD ever!
Does anybody own this DVD as I would love to know, cause I love that film!
Cheers
I don`t actually own the r2 vers., this is supposedly a pretty good disc with a commentary by Tom Savini, but the film itself is the 139 min `director`s cut` which actually has some BBFC cuts in a couple of gore scenes, also the film is presented in 4:3.
If you`re able to play r1 discs, I`d go for the U.S. Theatrical version released by Anchor Bay, which is uncut and in widescreen.
I bought it from dvdboxoffice.com for just over £13.
You pay`s yer money...
I have this disc on r2. The film is great, the quality is ok, the extras are poor. Also the disc is not in 5.1, I think it is stereo only.
Cheers for the comments.
I think I`ll be getting the R1 version, although the cheapest I could find was £17.99 at Play247. R2 version is full screen (I think) which is a little annoying. Dont know about the R1 version?
However, must buy Terminator first!
