Page 1 of STAR WARS. WHY I WON`T BUY THE SPECIAL EDITIONS

It`s all about removing all the blaster hits, making luke scream like a girl, making greedo shoot first and a s***e looking jabba..it`s all about sy snootles singing Lapti Nek being removed and an effing hamster put in her place. it`s all about ruining what I thought was great. And it riles me no end to see things messed about with.

I`m of a minority . I know that. I can`t even buy the new films (They shouldn`t have been made) because he`s altered those for DVD release too.

His madness will never end

The mad trio, Coppola, Speilberg and Lucas (the worst of the three) Can`t leave things alone. You can`t buy the original Apocalypse now anymore..


BUT SPIELBERG LISTENS!

Look at ET. Original and "New" in the same box. Good.

I couldn`t care less if my VHS copies aren`t as good as DVD. At least they`re what I saw when I was kid. And I like that. so there.



My DVD Collection

You`ve got to remember that George is 100% motivated by money these days and couldn`t care or less for the fans. It`s about time we abandoned his "Star Wars" franchise and latched onto something new coz I`ve had enough. He will bring out these "special special editions" as his "definitive" vision and then will re-release them in a box set when Ep3 is released on DVD (with even more tinkering added) and when he has made more millions out of them and has no other major income from re-releases he will then suprise us all with a "classic edition" box set which he will justify by saying the fans demanded it, the guy is a c*** and I hate him. >:(

P.S. You would have thought that with his millions he could fork out a few thousand to get himself a neck!

I respect your opinions, and partly agree with them. But Lucas made these films, and for that I`m eternally grateful. To call him a c*** it totally out of order in my opinion.

Personally can`t wait to get these discs :D

You see, when it comes to DVD`s I am weak and feeble, flash a shiny package in my face and I have to have it. So, I will end up buying the box-set and then the 6 film box set and then the classic film box set and then I will have to sell my soul to the devil to raise the cash for the ultimate "ultimate every version of these films you have ever seen" box set.

So, I have every right to call him a C*** (and those little stars are in CAPITALS too) because he makes millions of dollars preying on people like me...I feel like I`m being abused.

Now where are those pills? ;)

I agree. I wouldn`t go that far. I`m not a madman. I own the VHS, have darth vader stuff coming out of my ears, blaster guns, a 6 foot cardboard stormtrooper. George gave us these. I just wish He would stick to his guns and stop listening to whatever voices haunt him. I have seen ep 1 and 2. I enjoyed them. I am a star wars fan. I guess it`s because of the effect these films had on me as a child I treasure them so much.

I really hope that he does an E.T and brings these movies out with seamless branching. Original and special edition on 1 disc, or each version on a disc.

My DVD Collection

I think the Alien Quadrilogy has proved that seamless branching is the way to go. Although because much of the footage is substituted rather than just added, it might be better to have two separate discs.

And I`m a huge Star Wars fan, but I`m not mad about it. I have lots of merchandise from each movie. Hell, my mouse lies on a Darth Maul mouse-mat :D
I`m just not going to let this get to me. It would be different if I hated the Special Editions, but I quite like some of the stuff they did, such as the re-matting of the Battle of Hoth. Technically it`s exactly the same shots, only better. As I said before, the stuff I dislike is the song in ROTJ (it`s cringe-worthy). Greedo shooting first isn`t a big deal for me, it`s the fact that Greedo is sitting 3 feet away from Han, but he misses by a very LARGE margin (not to mention the added retarded motion of Han). It`s the same for Jabba the Hutt; I love the scene, but Han stepping on Jabba`s tale is silly. But I like the Death Star battle in a New Hope, including the added take-off on Yavin, instead of s***ty light speeks shooting through the air :p

Anyway, we will hear on Tuesday hopefully :D


ps. Greg, I think that`s called addiction, and is not specifically related to Lucas (although he isn`t helping either :p ) ;)

I won`t be buying any of the SW films as I find them frankly, dull.

Just my thoughts.

I`ll be buying the set, even though I want the 1977 version of Star Wars and I agree wholeheartedly that George Lucas is a complete (with deference to the Wookiee) N*rf-herder.

I feel so dirty...
