Page 1 of Region 2 Temple of Doom UNCUT is available...

Now we all know the R1 version of Temple is UNCUT and the UK R2 is cut to bits by our friends at the BBFC. But you want a R2 PAL copy? well now you can. I picked up a french version yesterday and it`s got the juicy bits that the BBFC think you should not see.. so ok, the box is all in frog, but the disc`s are printed in english.. it`s got the usual 5.1 in english, and stereo french (as IF?). So if you are going to watch the France/England Rugby match this weekend in Frogland, pick up a copy..

Why would you have to go to France to see the France/England rugby match? It`s in Australia so you would have to go there to see it. I got the R1 of Temple of Doom so no need to get the R2 French version.

I picked up the Ltd Korean release, which came in a leatherette Franklin Planner Binder, embossed with the Indiana Jones logo. Those lucky Koreans also have the choice of picking up a similar Ltd release which includes a reproduction of the amulet which is (I think) featured in last Crusade. Of course, TOD is uncut. Incidentally, the discs come in digipacks similar to the Godfather DVD`s, and not amaray cases, making the box set smaller and more shelf-friendly.

Actually the main reason why TOD is still cut is because Paramount didn`t bother to re-submit the film to the BBFC. There`s hardly anything in there that wouldn`t get a PG by today`s standards, so the fault, it would seem, lies with Paramount.

I disagree Chris, I think if TOD was released today it would get a 12 at least. Compare it to the Matrix films for example.

I think TOD is much tamer than the Matrix films. It also has the virtue of being `family` entertainment, which seems to excuse certain films when it comes to things that would otherwise be banned (some of the Star Wars trilogy is more violent for example). I`ve watched the scene in question, and while I can understand why it was omitted back on its original release, I`ve seen worse in a PG since. However, as it`s not been re-submitted, it seems we will never know.
