dvd-r`s

Evenin` all. Looking at the front screen of this forum it looks like I might have picked a bad time!!! ;)
Bit of advice really. Got a Panasonic E60 DVD Recorder on the way and was wondering what anybody might recommend in the way of DVD-R`s for video (DV Camcorder) and TV Progs from Sky?
Just bought 25 x Bulkpaq Orange labels for £18 which seems cheap. Is it a case of you get what you pay for? Should I spend a few quid more on `branded` discs?
Any help appreciated as always....

Yes, I`ve read a lot of reviews saying they are particularly reliable but mainly from people burning DVD`s rather than pure DV to disc. I shall give them a whirl!
Thanks for the info.

Cheers.

i also have used these disc`s with only a couple of probs,
1. for some reason my panny dmr-e30 will spit one out as unreadable (every so often)
2. always WATCH the disc you hve burned before wiping the camcorder, as some discs tend to skip.

hope this helps

I`m with you all the way on point 2. Just means watching another three friggin` hours of our holiday again! The occasional voyueristic moment every now and again should get me through tho!

I use the Bulkpaq orange too and have had few problems.
Reading more into this DVD media topic it seems not so much as to "if they work or not" but more about "how long are they gonna continue working"

A few sites suggests this "cheaper "type of media "Princo dye" will not last anywhere near the quality type ie Ritek brand "G04 dye"........Only time will tell!

i too use the orange bulkpaq disks with my pioneer 106 burner, i find that some discs skip when first played but after playing them a few times they never skip again, this was particularly the case with a back up that i did of my 8 mile dvd, when i first played it in my pioneer dv656a dvd player it kept skipping so i left it on repeat play before going to bed(this usually sorted out skiping with previous discs, dont ask me why?) but it did not sort out the skipping with this dvd so i tried leaving it to play in my computer , when i played it back on my pioneer dv656a dvd player it did not skip a single bit, very strange but it did the trick!
