15 December 2003 - ready for some alien-blasting action?
Play.com now have `Alien Quadrilogy` on their site, £49.99 delivered. Interesting how it states:
Audio commentaries from directors Ridley Scott, James Cameron and David Fincher
I thought Fincher wasn`t doing a commentary for `Alien 3`? And why hasn`t Jeunet done a yak-track for `Resurrection`?
(Note: Play are selling the old `Legacy` boxset for £57.99! Even though it lacks 4 discs, it is still £8 more expensive than the upcoming boxset!)

I`m more curious about Alien: Director`s Cut cinema release in November. I wonder what that will be like because some footage has been added and some removed, just like the Director`s Cut of Blade Runner.

Will it be the DC of `Alien` that will be in the boxset?

I hope both cuts of the movies are in the box set otherwise, you might as well save your originals.
Regarding the Fincher commentary, I read that he was re-editing Alien 3 to how he originally visioned it to be, before the studios took over.
I can`t wait for Alien to be released again on the cinema, also I hope they release Aliens on the cinema too.

Choices have had this available for pre-order for a little while and at a cheaper price than Play too.

I think both versions will be present. Same goes with the Theatrical and Special Edition versions of Aliens.
I`m not the biggest fan of the Alien series. I like the original, love the first sequel, but don`t care for Alien 3. And I consider Alien: Resurrection an abomination of film. Should have killed the series, but that task has been handed to Paul W S Anderson. Hack. >:(

I wonder if Cameron will vent any spleenage about his feelings regarding to Fincher`s Alien 3. I heard he was mighty p***ed of that Finchy killed off 2 promising characters before the opening credits had started

according to total film this month, fincher hates alien3 so much that he`s refused to record a commentary.....also, they mention that both alien and aliens will include both the original versions and the directors cuts....there`s also new F/X shots completed for resurrection
