Warner Home Video UK have announced a double DVD set "The Deer Hunter for release 4th August 2003. Priced at £19.99 the film is presented 2.35:1 anamorphic and features a DD 5.1 soundtrack. Extras will be:

I hung untill last month to purchase the deer hunter... i waited as long as i could.. and finally gave in...

I haven`t got it yet. I`m terribly pleased :-).

I got Deer Hunter pretty cheap ages ago from Ezydvd so should recoup my funds from ebay to purchase this two disk set, i hope. I think that i might wait a few months though until this new set falls in price again.

Got mine from Amazon about 6 months ago for about £5 with the £5 off voucher for referring a friend. Not too impressed with the extras on it but that`s not too much of a problem for the price.

Bought it for my dad a while ago, he`s not into extras that much (an amateur DVD obsessee in that case...!), so no big problem. I got it for £7.99 delivered @ Play, so really I`m not affected. But, on behalf of the others, I will go along with the resentment feeling.

I`m guessing it will be a cardboard slipcase "2-DISC SPECIAL EDITION" a la THE MISSION?
