Movietyme R Great!

Ben_Franklin (Competent) posted this on Saturday, 13th January 2001, 10:03

Just thought I`d recommend this site (http://www.movietyme.com) as I used them yesterday (Friday) and got my film delivered today!

I ordered "Me, Myself and Irene", which isn`t out until 23/01/01, and recieved it the next day. What`s more is the fact that the reciept tells me it was delivered from the USA!

Their prices are as competitive as Play247.com`s, plus if you pre-book you also get a quid or two off of the price. If anyone does order from these I recommend ordering before 12, because you have a much higher chance of getting it next day. Cheers!

Holy cow, Ben! That`s quick. Movietyme say on their site that they only have stock in the US, so they must be delivering via TARDIS or something!

I`ve been thinking of ordering through Movietyme (my previous R1 purchase was through Play247). I tried getting some empty Amaray cases from them last year with no luck, but I`ve recently discovered Amaray haven`t been supplying anyone outside the Studios, so it wasn`t Movietyme`s fault.

Current titles causing smacking of lips are Bedazzled and Charlie`s Angels. Should I go for it?

Why not? At least if you aren`t happy with their service you don`t have to use them again. Bearing in mind my item was definitely in stock when I ordered, thats why it was so speedy. I couldn`t believe it when I saw the reciept to see it`d come all the way from the USA, in time for the next day morning post.

If you order Bedazzled or Charlies Angels from Movietyme then you will probably find they are cheaper than Play247. Don`t hold me responsible if though if your order doesn`t work out the same way as mine did!
Cheers!

Damn right I will ;-) Nah just kidding!

I`ve just ordered from them on your account (of their service that is, not your bank account, lol!).

Thanks for letting us know though, hope they`re as good as you say they are!

Dammit, I`ll do it! I`ve been pussyfooting around all year thinking "should I take the plunge with R1?" I`ve only had the one disk so far and that works fine. Everybody keeps telling me R1 disks work better than R2, and although the quality of R2 stuff`s been improving, R2 is still the poor relation.

I`m off to preorder at Movietyme!

Good Luck!!! U`ll have to post a message to let me know if you were as successful as I was!

And I hope for my sake, 007, that they`re as good as I`ve said they are! I mean I`ve only got experience from one order, but they seem pretty good to me. Perhaps not as proffessional as other services, in that their website can be a little confusing at times, but I`d heartily reccomend them!

Well, I`ve girded my whatsits and put an order in to Movietyme for a dose of Liz Hurley (admittedly an acquired taste) and Drew`s impression of Farrah 8o) Free postage to the UK and about the same price as I`d expect the R2 version from Streets. Nice!

Ordered from them last week. Gave them my details. Ordered Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Received receipt via e-mail. Checked the site - they have started to deliver this item but have placed a message saying do not contact us re: this disk?

Why the f**k not? Surely, if they have an item they should deliver it. If they have supply problems they should tell us what is happening. Ben sings their praises but this kind of way of doing business is shoddy & unprofessional. Admittedly they havn`t debited my account yet but it has still been well over a week now.

I am not holding my breath. I experienced the same shoddy service from Letsbuyit.com 2 months before they went under. I was lucky to receive a refund which took 3 phone calls and 1 letter.

Even play247.co.uk have been a bit underperforming as of late. As soon as e-tailers get their customer service right, only then can we lobby BT & OFTEL for better connections and faster access to the net.

I don`t think that Movietyme are Great at all. If i receive my disk i might think that they are an okay retailer but this kind of service is in my view unacceptable.

Yeah I ordered CTHD from them last week as well, got my receipt but I`m still waiting for the disc.

Shame actually because I could have got it slightly cheaper some place else but I decided to go with them because I thought they`d deliver quicker, turns out I was wrong!
