Don`t know how the cut compares to the region 1 version , which says it`s uncut (or as uncut as they can make it, what with lost footage). But the list of extras looks alot better.

Last I heard (only a few months ago), those that had the rights to the film had always refused to make any cuts and the BBFC have always demanded that some be made to allow it through.

So I`m guessng that Anchor bay have relented and chopped a few chunks out.

But u never know.

The Last House on the Left

Rejected for a cinema release in 1974 and again in 2000.

However it achieved an arthouse circuit release in 2000

Re-released on video after 31s of BBFC cuts in 2002.

An appeal against the cuts proved unsuccessful.

The BBFC justified their cuts as follows:

Cuts required to humiliation of woman forced to urinate, violent stabbing assault on woman and removal of her entrails, and woman`s chest carved with a knife.

Went to see this at the ICA about 3 years ago. Not a great film, but well worth seeing just to wonder why it`s still being cut.
