Question regarding CD burning

Jason Bagnall (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 9th January 2003, 05:05

I recently just got Broadband courtesy of Telewest (top blokes), and I want to **ahem** back-up some of my media files onto CD. Is it possible to easily make a compliation CD of say, trailers? What file type do they need to be? How do I change it?

Jason, you`re being just a little bit too evasive ! Are you saying you want to get trailers, and put them on a CD to play in a DVD player, or on a PC ? If it`s just for a PC, then you simply need any basic CD burning program, and put the files on in their native format. If it`s for a DVD player, then it depends on a lot of other factors.

If its for a DVD player, your best bet (if your player supports it) is to burn SVCDs, which can be done quite easily with Nero Burning Rom and free software such as TMPGenc.

http://www.vcdhelp.com has good info on converting to SVCD format, as well as ways of converting Quicktime movies that trailers often come in.
