Region 1`s in Gibraltar

Someone I know went to Gibraltar and he says they sell both Region 1 & 2 in the shops over there. If it`s a British colony, does anyone know why they`re allowed to do that?

I suppose it`s the same reason why fags are only £1.00 a packet there. It`s because they are a colony and not part of Great Britain. Laws are made for them by their governing body not by the UK parliament. BTW, what prices on average were the DVD`s ?

You should try shopping in Hong Kong. They stock every region side by side in the HMV`s so you need to check the cases to see what you`re getting!

What always makes me laugh is when you have a region 3 produced under licence by the Hong Kong Universe Laser Company for £2, with the R1 alongside for £25+.

Hi JE, are there any internet DVD sites from Hong Kong - I suppose not or everyone would order from there and nowhere else ?

Yes,

DDDhouse.com
Coolashop.com

and they`ve got some minor HK classics very cheap such as:

City on Fire, the Killer other John Woo and Chow Yun Fat stuff

they also specialise in VCD. I haven`t tried them yet but will sooner or later.

Western titles aren`t particularly cheap. To find the cheapest go through the procedure at happyhunter.com
