DVD`s pictures with the highest bitrate...

Alrighty then!

For those who own players with bitrate meters, a challenge to find the DVD with the highest picture bitrate!
Superbit claims to be the highest, yet very occasionaly isn`t, there are many non Superbit discs with picture information constantly in the 6-10 megabits per second region.

So here`s my first entry - True Lies R2/4. At one point in the opening sequence the bitrate meter hits 10mbps! And then the quality continues throughout-truly reference quality.

Keep em coming...

The UK release of Austin Powers had a high bit rate (so high in fact that Pathe had to reissue the disc at a lower max bitrate of 9.8Mbps because many first generation players couldn`t cope with video bitrates over 9.9Mbps)

I don`t have a bitrate meter but on a review of Twin Peaks Series 1 it was noted that the bitrate for each episode was higher than superbit. Perhaps somebody could confirm it.

A bit late to answer Westy but I received my Ealing comedies this morning and watched The Lady Killers and while watching it I remembered that someone had asked about bitrate.
At several times during this movie the bitrate hit 10mbps .During the first 60-70 minutes the bitrate was averaging around 8 and for the last 10 odd minutes it was about 5.
PS I was one of the lucky ones to get the 4 movies for the princely sum of £13.92 as Amazon had acknowledged the error in the price stated but out of good faith honoured the existing orders. Well worth it ,Lady Killers was brill and I`ll watch the rest later on.
