A very good deal, but you only get the cheque back after 3 month.

Much Much better than any pay as you go option, and after 12 months u can just buy a pay as u go sim and continiue to use the phone without any line rental.

Saw this on dvdforums and it really does seem an great deal, esp when you bear in mind they offer £30 trade in on an old phone. Ordered one used a trade in so it should only cost me £10 for the year and that includes line rental and 500 mins + some texts every month!

Cheers for letting us know about this offer Shock,

I have an old Ericsson A1018 which has been lying about gathering dust that I have traded in :o)

As lardarse says 500 mins + 50 texts a month for a year for a tenner. What a bargain!!

if you go for the anytime tariff, they only give you £10 for the old phone....
[EDIT]
That sounds rather churlish, doesn`t it :-)
...Been waiting to get rid of an old old Ericsson 318....

Well spotted that man!

Its not soo much to make money, but for them to have a high number of contract customers to show for the city, at the end of the financial year.

Rumer has it they bought nearly half a million Nokia 3310s from Nokia!!!!

Truely a great deal. They did the same thing a couple of years ago on a Nokia 5110 on Cellnet with 200 mins a month. Signed up for that too, and now used that old phone to trade in on this deal - I couldn`t have gotten £30 for it anywhere else.

Shock is right, the main point is to shift some phones. However they will hope to make some money because MOST people won`t cancel the contract straight away at the end of the "free" 12 months. Plus the cost of all the calls you make of course.

Anyone who missed this offer and wished they hadn`t may well find it worth their time checking the site each day for the next few weeks. I`d say it`s quite likely they`ll repeat this some time soon, though probably only for one day!

Did a similar deal a few years ago and I got a Siemens phone out of it.
The refund was given in two stages at 3 and 6 months. The only thing I had to pay was itemised billing every month.
The best bit was that after six months I phoned BT Cellnet and converted the package to 12 pay month pay advance line rental. This was £70 for a further 12 months on the same tariff!
