RE: HP LaserJet 1018 Printer. £39.99
This is a good price for a laser, good spot. I found the toner cartridge at a reasonable price so the running cost would be low. The only downside with cheap lasers is they are generally only good for about 5000 pages!
Heres is the link to the toner:

Picked one of these up lunchtime today. Installed no probs, and printing seems quick with nice `n` sharp text definition. Very pleased so far!
Thanks to the OP! :)
RE: HP LaserJet 1018 Printer. £39.99
I wondered why the printer is only £33 + VAT on HP`s UK website whereas they list the print cartridge at £42 + VAT.
I downloaded the manual and noticed: " ... Introductory 1,000-page print cartridge".
RE: HP LaserJet 1018 Printer. £39.99
i had the similar samsung laser printer, & used to refill the toner myself for about a fiver for two fills :) (ebay for the toner) as for 5000 print`s i dunno, i used it for printing full page lists & used to go through at least 1 pack of 5 reams a week (500 sheet reams) so thats,, erm,,,
2500 copies ?
& i used it for 6 months, then gave it to a friend who is still using it for the same purpose today, & i gave it him over a year ago :) it was £69.99 from viking at the time & he`s still refilling the original test toner cart it came with :) mine was the parralel version, the new ones usb. (as found knocking around for about £50)
hope this helps :)

The 5000 (average) prints comes from my experience with Samsung laser printers I have gone through 4 in the last few years. I do print a large amount for work and found this the cheapest method, i have since moved to a inkjet with an external ink pot much better. :D
RE: HP LaserJet 1018 Printer. £39.99
tbh, i just didn`t need it anymore, so just use a standard inkjet, with carts at around a quid thats all i need :) i`m a low user now :)
i think the sammy i had was an "8000" series, but could be wrong :)

I`ve got the sammy 1510 and it`s still going a fair pelt after 2 years.
I have the Laser for the stuff I need when working with the agency (in store sheets etc) and my inkjet for my colour and CD requirements.
I refilled my toner with a kit from SVP a while back, £15 for big bottle of toner and something that looked like a soldering iron with a funny end to make a hole.
(didn`t need the thing for Sammy toner carts, have a pop out plug.)
Some toners are different but would be interested where you got yer toner for a fiver Oggie boy!

I also had the Samsung from years back & refilled it a few times, without issue.
I lent it to a friend of THO along with a PC sometime back, when I moved to MT8008 colour laser. Refilling that one with HP colour refills (pack of 4 £40) as again the toner packs were 2/3rds the cost of the original printer.

This is where they actually make the profit, the printer is (usually on cheaper printers) a loss leader. ;)
Google is your friend, but IIRC this was were I sourced mine for the original Samsung.

RE: HP LaserJet 1018 Printer. £39.99
the powder refill i got was in two squeezy type bottles (one for each refill) iirc it was about 5 fiver + £2 quid delivery, (i remeber it only cost 7 quid altogether) from ebay, but that was yonks ago, i do remember the refill was dead easy, about three screws then just put the powder in.
BUT if you do refill, treat the toner powder with respect, because it`s very nasty stuff & you don`t want to breath any of it in.
hope this helps :)
